The gasket installs fine and easily, BUT, it's too bulky, or possibly twisted from being in the bag or something, so that the door doesn't actually close all the way unless you hold it, so it's certainly not making a good seal. I might try flattening it somehow, but I doubt that will work very well. May have to return it.
