This is one of the great investment I made for my kitchen. It is very easy to use, to clean and most of all is it very compact. Higly recommend for small space.
For a light duty slicer, you can't beat the price. Light duty by my definition means I have to take time to clean it. A cut proof glove is a must for cleaning this thing. The cleaning kit helps with the every day wipe down, but if you slice something fatty (bacon) then you'll want to clean it down deep which takes some doing. As far as actual slicing goes, this thing definitely holds it's own. The carriage has smooth action and the slices are clean.
Slicey slicey slicey! It's slice city over here at the restaurant ever since we got this slicer. We alive bacon. And we slice arrows. And we slice carrots. We slice ham. It's more than good. It's grrrrrrrrereeat!
The Avantco SL310 10" Manual Gravity Feed Meat Slicer - 1/4 hp is a great product for the prices. It is easy to use and although basic suits all of our needs in a small restaurant/deli
Love this! Just used, cleaned & reassembled for the first time. Sliced an eye of round into paper thin slices with no problems. Cleaning it properly is a 15 minute job, but I'm super fussy. Actually cleaning it was not as bad as I expected. This is a quality piece of equipment, I'm very pleased!
Outstanding value for the price! Large enough to hold a brisket in the carriage and a wide range of thickness selections from paper thin to over 1/2". My only complaint is the meat guard on the back of the blade does not sufficiently match the profile of the blade to keep stray meat from being pulled behind the blade. Other than that I would not hesitate to purchase again or recommend this Avantco slicer.
After a recommendation from a friend, I decided to have a look at the Avantco SL310 slicer to replace a cheap slicer for my home kitchen use where I slice meat 2 or 3 times a week. I wanted something durable that could slice deli thin slices or thicker as needed and something that would last me for a LONG time. I decided to give the Avantco a try and I'm glad I did. After using this slicer for several months I am convinced that it will last me for a LONG time and I am quite satisfied with it. It's durable and easy to use. In my opinion this slicer is rather easy to clean. There are two twist off knobs require to remove the slider and the blade face plate and then three phillips head screws to remove the blade. I can have it broken down in about 3 minutes or less. It takes me 5 to 8 minutes to wipe it down and remove any debris and then sanitize the parts and another two or 3 minutes to put it back together. To me, thats about as easy as it gets for cleaning something like this. I clean it completely after every use and have no issues with the time or difficulty of that process. I highly recommend this slicer!
I've only used this a few times so far, but it's been awesome. Slicing things super see-through thin and thicker with no problems. I almost got the bigger motor model but I think that would have been a waste of money and this guy works great.
Great slicer. It is easy to clean and easy to work. Blade stays sharp and have never had a problem with it. Wish the power plug was longer.
The job that this does is amazing. For that portion, I give it 5 stars. But, the black plastic "pusher handle" is POORLY AND CHEAPLY manufactured. If you screw it tight on the slider tray, the little plastic threads inside the handle strip right off and the handle won't stay on. The black plastic handle screws on to a metal screw...so, plastic screwing on to metal wasn't the most brilliant design. The Webstaurant Store wanted to ship me a new plastic handle... Geez, the thing only weighs a few ounces. The shipping charges are a major rip-off. Instead, I took the old handle, along with the tray framework that the handle screws on to, down to a local metal fabrication shop. This will now last a lifetime, I got stainless steel.
I love this machine . It is small and practice. Easy to use and great quality. I recommend you this producto because it's price is lower than many others.
I purchased this for home use only. It is fairly light and performs well, very easy to clean. Working in kitchens all my life I always want to get the biggest and best but this satisfy's all my needs.
It does a great job at cutting meat. We have used it to cut ham and meats. We have not been disappointed so far. Great addition to our home.
This slicer Avantco SL 312 12” manual is very good deal , fast delivery and soo easy the assembly, every part is good and easy to use . I think is the best for the price and I compared a lot of slicer before buy it.
This is an awesome slicer and it accommodates my needs. It has come in very handy especially during these lock downs, it has allowed me to be creative and also produce of outstanding cold cut sandwiches at home.
Not all that great, We doon't really use our slicer a lot so when my old Hobart broke after a liftime of use , we went with this one ... It does slice ok after getting some use to it, but it is a pain to clean. We spend more time taking it appart for cleaning than we do use it. Super flomsy feel to it too, but that is to be expected from that brand since all they make is "disposable".
Well worth the money. I have waited before writing this review and after owning the slicer for 4 years next month I feel I can give a pretty accurate review. I use this about every 6 weeks to slice roughly 100 pounds of partially frozen beef and pork, whole ribeye roasts and pork loins, so it gets a workout. Have never had one problem with it and slices great. I have sliced from almost see thru thin to 1/2" thickness. Very consistent, but keep in mind that the thickness will appear different between thawed meat and frozen. Cleaning, yes, it does take a bit of work to give it a good detailed cleaning. If you use the right tools and don't over torque the screws when putting it back together, you will never have a problem. I take the bottom tray off (5 screws) and then you can the the 2 shroud nuts off which makes cleaning so much easier. Blade screws should be Swedish torque (nicensnug), not German torque (goodntight). Well worth the 20 minute clean.
This slicer is great for the amount of slicing we do and it runs well....but why am I getting discoloration on products like ham? The ham slices have black marks on them. Is this oxidation and how can I fix it?
This slicer works reasonably well. The blade is easy to sharpen and the guard glides well. The downsides are that A) It's very hard to clean and B) it is quite small. We don't slice much and this guy gets the job done, but I would get something bigger if you slice regularly.
Muy buena rebanadora es pequeña facil de maniobrar, meteriales de muy buena calidad
We process a whole hog every year. Slicing bacon and ham was a nightmare to do by hand. We purchased this slicer mainly for the reasonable price, locally other 12" slicers were 3X the price. We were very happy to find quality like you see in the deli. This is able to slice super thin if wanted, and can slice as fast as you can run it. We processed 8 Lbs of bacon & ham in less than 2 hours, including vacuum sealing. It also comes with a detachable blade sharpener which is awesome. I highly recommend this slicer.
I have several of these slicers. They work really well. Only downfall is that they are hard to get completely cleaned.
I love this machine, it is very quiet and has a sharp edge. It is also easy to clean.
Very happy with my new meat slicer. Definitely recommended
have used for years - multiple times weekly. WE do not sliced daily - but it has held up great and ive only sharpened it once or twice - holds it edge well.
